Finding Your Roots Bristol

Discover Your Heritage. Connect with Your Past. #FindingYourRootsBristol

Finding Your Roots offers an extraordinary opportunity for a Bristol individual with African-Caribbean ancestry to embark on a transformative journey of self-discovery. This unique initiative provides a bursary to explore your family’s ancestral history, uncovering stories of the past and bringing your family tree to life. Through the project, we will support an individual from Bristol with African-Caribbean ancestry, and a deep desire to explore their heritage, to go on a journey of discovery into their ancestral roots.

Unearthing heritage, one step at a time

The selected individual will:

Ancestral Discovery: Learn the powerful stories behind their ancestors and connect to their experiences.

Map their Journey: Trace the steps of your family’s past, revealing new relationships, cultures, and connections.

A Life-Changing Trip: Travel to a destination of your choice in Africa or the Caribbean, immersing yourself in the places where your roots run deep.

What support will I receive if chosen?

The Finding Your Roots project ensures that the selected individual is fully supported throughout this emotional and enlightening process.
Support includes:

Dedicated Genealogy Expertise: Work with specialists to guide you through every step of your ancestry search.
