Signpost to Skills supports ethnic minority individuals to take steps towards the career they want or to get back into work. Our support aims to equip you with the skills, confidence, networks and opportunities to secure employment, places in training programmes, volunteering, or the skills and knowledge to set up your own social enterprise.

The first cohort of the programme will start in January.
There is a time commitment involved which you can manage flexibly around your responsibilities as needed.
Target audience: Black, Asian, ethnic minority individuals in the South Gloucestershire, Bristol or Bath area, who may be experiencing long-term unemployment, who may not have been through higher education, are returning mothers, or are otherwise far from the labour market: low paid / part-time / precarious work.
We complement the existing provision in Bristol and Bath by offering support specifically for minoritized groups in South Gloucestershire which is rural and has a tendency to be disconnected. In partnership with the South Gloucestershire Race Equality Network (SGREN), we will be mobilising access to local services in the form of cultural, creative and community groups, organisations and networks. This will enable us to connect these disparate communities to relevant skill-building opportunities leading to employment and strengthen links and the community as a whole.
Our programme Signpost to Skills will work with three cohorts to equip them with the skills, confidence, networks and opportunities to secure employment, places in training programmes, or volunteering which can lead to employment, or with the skills and knowledge to set up their own social enterprise.
We will do this through a 4-month programme of innovative in-person and online interventions which progressively prepare participants to be ready for the workforce through upskilling.
Signpost to Skills is delivered by Creative Connex, a community organisation which specialises in creative projects with a social activism focus particularly around race and the environment. We connect projects with our network of partners across South Gloucestershire, Bristol and Bath.
